Optical Selection Guide
Viewing emphasis and focal plane influence different parts of the optical experience. Explore these two core concepts before reviewing the published specifications on each product page.
01 Viewing Emphasis
A wider view preserves more of the surrounding environment. A more focused view places greater visual emphasis on a distant subject. The correct balance depends on the product configuration and intended observation distance.
Illustrative digital crop only. Actual magnification and field of view vary by model and published specification.
Concept illustration only. Review each product page for the published focal-plane and reticle configuration.
02 Focal Plane
FFP and SFP describe where the reticle sits within the optical system. The difference affects how the reticle appears while the viewed image changes in size.
In this concept view, the reticle and target image change together at the same relative rate.
